Sept 2011

Bienvenue to the 33rd "Rentrée" (back to school) at French For Fun!

Once again, we are excited to have the privilege of providing the very best French education to our broad student body ranging from 8 months old to nearly 80 years old.

We will offer a play-based Pre-K & K French Immersion class and a non-academic, elementary school level Immersion class. Sign up weekly for the Pre-K/K program and monthly for the 1st-5th grade program. Our hope is that this flexible schedule will make getting to French class more convenient and accessible to you. We understand the importance of flexibility! Click here for more information on the Pre-K & K program, and here for the 1st-5th grade program.

Our reputation is based on the rich curriculum which our faculty and administrator carefully plan each year. Given that French For Fun is a Language and Cultural center, the curriculum focus often revolves around a cultural theme. This year, for example, our Middle-schoolers are "going to Paris" for a year-long visit to the City of Lights. Students will learn how the city got its name, and they will learn architectural terms while building Notre Dame. They will learn about Monsieur Eiffel and his controversial tower. In art, students will study the works of Chagall. He loved the Eiffel tower and illustrated it in many of his paintings. Click to learn more about class content in this and other classes.

Our morning Early Education Immersion Program was recently licensed by the Department of Social Services, and under the guidance of Madame Paulette, our new Early Childhood Education Director, many new ideas have been implemented in the program.

Bien sûr, Madame Catherine Jolivet, our founder, will continue to lead the morning and afternoon immersion programs for a large number of children coming from all over the East Bay. In addition, our beloved teachers, Madame Isabelle and Monsieur Baimba will continue to share their special talents -- music and art -- working with children of all ages. Madame Parastou will be available to our older students for either preparation of exams or conversation classes.

Enjoy browsing our well designed website and feel free to stop in to say Bonjour, and observe for yourself the exciting programs at French For Fun.

À très bientôt
